The Paris Review has asked me to write a 2,000-word essay describing my collaboration with Philip Levine on the making of THE POETRY OF JAZZ. A frightening but exciting assignment! Stay tuned for publication information.
My “Poetry of Jazz/Jazz of Poetry CD,” which features the narration and poetry of U.S. Poet Laureate and Pulitzer Prize winner Philip Levine, and well as jazz greats such Chris Potter, Tom Harrell and Greg Osby, is being matered at Systems Two studio in Brooklyn. Head engineer Mike Marciano and producer Donald Brown have been amazing. Check back for the new promo video!
